The role
Leads the project's functional genomics: massively parallel reporter assays (MPRA) that test which age-related DNA methylation changes actually alter gene regulation, across tissues, joined with the consortium's methylation, expression, chromatin and proteomic data. Part bench, part sequencing analysis.
What the work covers
- MPRA experiments on methylation-dependent regulatory elements
- Integrating MPRA results with multi-tissue omic data
- Shaping the direction of the functional genomics work
What they're looking for
- PhD in genetics, molecular biology, evolutionary biology or a related field by the start date
- Functional genomics; MPRA experience (STARR-seq, mSTARR-seq) preferred, not required
- Comfortable at the bench and with sequencing data, or keen to grow the weaker side
