The role
Leads the project's brain-aging work: building pipelines for 7T ex vivo MRI of archived macaque brain hemispheres across the adult lifespan, and connecting what the scans show to RNA-seq and DNA methylation from the same brains. The results feed the consortium's multidomain ageotype models.
What the work covers
- Ex vivo 7T MRI protocols, quality control and segmentation (FreeSurfer, ANTs, FSL or similar)
- Atlas registration (D99, INIA19) and regional measures of brain aging
- Brain RNA-seq and DNA methylation, including epigenetic clocks
- Linking brain measures to physiology, behaviour, social data and survival
- Reproducible pipelines (Snakemake or Nextflow), and data deposits with CayoHub
What they're looking for
- PhD in neuroscience, neuroimaging, genomics, computational biology or a related field
- Structural MRI analysis: volumetric segmentation and morphometry
- RNA-seq or DNA methylation analysis
- Scripting and statistics in Python, R, Bash or similar
- Peer-reviewed publications
